The venue will be
the Sofitel Centara Grand Bangkok Hotel, located on Vibhavadee
Rangsit Highway, amidst the booming business district of Bangkok,
Sofitel Centara Grand Bangkok stands adjacent to the renowned
Central Plaza Shopping Mall (over 200 shops, boutiques, and
multiple cinemas combined with ample parking facilities, all
under one roof) with the famous Chatuchak Park and Market opposite.
Sofitel Centara Grand Bangkok provides easy access to Suvarnabhumi
and Donmuang Airports as well as quick access to the downtown
area. The subway is immediately in front of our complex, and

INSURANCE
Participants are strongly
advised to make their own arrangements in respect to health
and travel insurance. The Organizer does not accept any liability
for individual medical,
travel or personal insurance.
PASSPORT
AND VISA
All foreign visitors
entering Thailand must have a passport which is valid for at
least 6
months. The Thai government allows 45 different nationalities
to enter the country for 30

days without visas.
Participants from countries whose citizens are required to have
visas should apply to the Thai consular office or diplomatic
mission in their countries
at least 6 weeks before departure. Participants are advised
to contact their local travel
agents or air carriers for details.
BANGKOK
Bangkok, the “City
of Angels”, is a city full of temples and palaces, golden
spires,
orange-tiled roofs and images of Buddha. With a population of
7.6 million covering an
area of 1,569 sq km, Bangkok is the Capital of Thailand.
Bangkok is located on the east side of the Chao Phraya, “The
River of Kings” and
natural and artificial canals crisscross the city. The blend
of the old and new , traditional
and modern, make this city one of the most interesting in the
world.

Only Thai Baht is
acceptable at stores and restaurants. Foreign currency exchange
services are available at major banks and hotels. The exchange
rate is about THB 35

CLIMATE
Being in the South
East Asia region, Thailand has a subtropical climate. During

ROYAL
GRAND PALACE TOUR

Visit the Royal Grand
Palace, then go through the dazzling Wat Phra Kaew with its
revered Emerald Buddha, the Golden Chedi, Pantheon of the Chakri
Kings, a miniature replica of Angkor Wat in Cambodia and the
eight coloured towers. Certain buildings in the Palace grounds
are closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
Wat Phra Kaew is Thailand’s
most sacred temple. Visitors wearing shorts, sandals without
heel strap, T-shirts, sleeveless shirts, divided skirts, Bermuda
shorts or tights are not allowed to enter.

THOMPSON’S THAI HOUSE AND SUAN PAKKARD PALACE

Visit the famous
house of Thailand’s late “Thai silk king”, Jim Thompson, consisting
of seven very old Thai houses skillfully grouped into one, with
an outstanding collection of Thai and Asian objects d’art.
Also visit the unique
Lacquer Pavilion at Suan Pakkard Palace, decorated with 17th-century
murals in gold leaf and magnificent wood carvings. See old Thai
architecture and a collection of rare antiques representing
every branch of Thai art.

Palace. Return to Bangkok in a leisurely cruise along the Chao

enjoy a buffet lunch aboard.

OF THE THAI COUNTRYSIDE
A
new an unusual full day tour, exploring some rarely-visited
rural areas, interesting home industries, and providing a vignette
of “UNSEEN” Thai life, away from mainstream tourist attractions.
Admire a teakwood pavilion with its rich gold leaf murals; taste

woodcarvings; see a beautiful Catholic church on the river,
and watch pious local people making merit by feeding hundreds
of protected fish living in a canal. This is a quite different
off the beaten track’ excursion which lovers of Thailand and
Mother Nature will enjoy very much.
